Soon afterwards, he is fired.<\/p>\n<p>Another example is <strong>West Elm<\/strong> that used the subject line &#8220;Thanks for your order!&#8221; and a receipt from the future, offering up to 70% off a purchase. Some recipients took it seriously, worrying about identity theft, and expressed their displeasure with the brand on Facebook. As you can tell, there is quite <strong>a big risk that you may not hit the nail on the head<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The stories above are self-explanatory. You may want to win loads of publicity and attention thanks to your hoax, but think twice about whether this will do your business good.
